Day 3

Toughest so far

View John O'Groats to Lands End on bazhuk's travel map.

A pretty tough day today. Cycled 93 miles with 5000ft of hard height gain - 2 long and difficult climbs into and through The Grampians. Spent around 10 hours in the saddle - 1hr 30 of which was cycling through Glasgow in the dark! Eventually reached Paisley (just South of Glasgow).

Weather has been overcast and cold. Another snapped chain today - no more spare chain links, so my chain is getting shorter. Greig can no longer feel his middle finger on his right hand through numbness from the handlebars.

Hoping to break out of Scotland tomorrow (England here we come!!), but fatigue may mean a shorter day in the saddle.

No point really mentioning soreness - our backsides are sore beyond words!!
